Charles Harriott is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and nomadic instructor known for his unique approach to martial arts training and travel. Originally from Boca Raton, Florida, Harriott holds a black belt in BJJ and has extensive experience in multiple martial arts disciplines, including Tae Kwon Do, American Kenpo, Universal Martial System, and Judo.
With a background in physics and a passion for breakdancing, Harriott's martial arts journey began after a knee injury from breakdancing. He started training BJJ while in college and quickly developed a love for the sport. His martial arts path has been characterized by a desire to train and explore different gyms around the world.
On February 14, 2018, Harriott embarked on a full-time traveling lifestyle, selling most of his possessions to pursue his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He has since become known as a "wandering jiu-jitsu instructor," training and teaching at various academies across different countries.Harriott's travels have taken him to numerous countries, including Japan, England, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany. He is particularly known for his open-minded approach to training, often visiting different gyms and participating in open mats to expand his skills and network within the BJJ community.
Beyond his martial arts career, Harriott is also an Airbnb host and continues to combine his love of travel with his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His unique lifestyle and approach to martial arts have made him a notable figure in the BJJ Globetrotters community.
