Owen Livesey
Owen Livesey is a distinguished British judoka and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner who has made significant contributions to both sports. Born on March 16, 1991, in St Helens, Merseyside, England, Livesey began his martial arts journey at a young age, initially focusing on judo.In judo, Livesey achieved remarkable success, representing Great Britain at the highest levels of international competition. His crowning achievement came in 2014 when he won the gold medal in the 81 kg weight class at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. I'm a White belt, Will the event be ok for my level?
Absolutely, the benefit of the camp is the one on one contact with a world class coach, they can break the movements and sequences down to the simplest form to suit the individuals needs.
Also the fact of the multiple hours a day we are training, the rate of learning is huge!

What are the room options?

All rooms feature a bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Enjoy your private balcony and the comfort of air-conditioning. You can choose from king or two single beds. Maximum of 2 people.
How do the twin share rooms work?
Travelling with a friend? We will pair you together, just list each others name in the booking form at checkout.
Travelling alone? We will pair you with another camp guest of the same gender Tickets are sold per person (pp).
I'm thinking of coming by myself, is that ok?
Of course it is! Many people come by themselves, in fact more than half of the group.
I'm traveling with my partner and we both want to train, what are the ticket options?
There are several options, and it depends on what inclusions you would like. Please see below.
1) x1 Private room ticket + x1 Training only ticket (If you purchase a Private room ticket your partner can stay free with breakfast included)
2) x2 training only tickets (Please note training only tickets do not include accommodation or additional activities)
Can I bring my Partner who doesn't train?
Yes!
If you purchase a Private room ticket a (non training) Plus 1 can stay free with breakfast included.
If your non training Plus 1 would like to join the full day boat trip, this will be an additional cost.
What is the age range?
Majority of our participants are aged between 20 and 50
What is the minimum age?
Our events are open to participants age 14 and above, minors must be accompanied by a guardian.
Optional dinner, drinks & activities
There will be scheduled dinner, drinks and activities, these are totally optional however make for a great opportunity to get to know your fellow Jiujitsu fam when were not trying to choke each other unconscious!
Can I do my own thing outside of the classes?
Of course, its your holiday, pick and choose as you please.

Flights are not included.
Are transfers included?
Airport transfers are not included.
Is full payment required upon booking or just a deposit?
A deposit of $400.00 AUD is required to secure your place and is non-refundable. An invoice with the remaining balance will be sent to your email, payment is due 10 weeks prior to event commencement.
Payment options?
An upfront deposit is required to secure your spot, an invoice with the remaining balance will then be emailed to you, you can choose one of the below options to finalise the remaining balance.
Option 1 - Pay in full
Participants can pay the outstanding balance in full using the "Pay Invoice" button located on the invoice we send you.
Option 2 - Installments
BJJ Escapes can set up an instalment payment plan, Deductions can be fortnightly or monthly.
All outstanding balances must be paid in full by the due date.
How do the payment plans work?
The instalment amount is determined by taking the outstanding balance (ticket price minus the deposit) and dividing it by your preferred payment frequency—either fortnightly or monthly.
The remaining balance must be paid in full 10 weeks prior to event commencement.

With a due date of January 8th, 2025 (20 weeks away), here’s how the payments would break down:
After your first payment, subsequent payments will be automatically deducted at the chosen frequency (every 14 or 28 days) on a recurring basis from the initial payment date, until the balance is fully paid off.
I need to cancel my ticket, can I get a refund?
Deposits are non refundable or transferable, this ensures that we can continue to provide high-quality services and manage event logistics & costs effectively.
What happens if the event is cancelled because of lack of numbers?
If minimum numbers are not met the event will not go ahead & full refund will be given less any suppliers and providers fees. Read the terms & conditions here

All classes will be conducted in English

BANGTAO MMA/BJJ area has over 700sq/ft of mat space from one of the best in the business, FUIJIMATS. Here, you can train MMA and Jiujitsu. There are also heavy bags and floor bags to practice your ground and pound. After a hard training session, fuel up with a protein shake, fresh food or energy chocolate balls at their onsite restaurant. They use the freshest ingredients, sourced locally so that your nutrition is primed to make the best out of your training sessions.
