Brad Wolfson
Brad Wolfson is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Marcio Stambowsky, with a lineage tracing back to the legendary Gracie family and Judo founder Jigoro Kano. Brad's martial arts journey began in 1998 when he attended a Jiu-Jitsu class with a friend. Inspired by Royce Gracie's UFC performances, he dedicated 14 years and thousands of training hours, traveling to Brazil, Vietnam, and Peru to master the art.
Despite describing himself as "less-than-athletic," Brad embodies the adaptability of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, proving it can work for anyone. He has competed in many tournaments, but his true passion is teaching Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense and a healthy lifestyle. Brad now teaches at Soulcraft Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, sharing his love for the art with his students.
Reilly Bodycomb
Reilly Bodycomb is a highly accomplished grappler and instructor known for his unique approach to dominating the clinch range with dynamic throws and submission entries. A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, Reilly's methods have been proven in competition, notably achieving 1st in the USA and 5th in the world at 68kg in SAMBO Wrestling in 2016. He teaches his innovative techniques at Bay Jiu-Jitsu in San Francisco, CA, attracting a dedicated following of students.
In addition to his grappling success, Reilly is an accomplished competitive shooter, holding A-Class ranks in revolver, rifle, and pistol shooting, and actively competing in Cowboy Action Shooting. Through Guidance Steel Target Shooting, he offers instruction in Action Shooting to Bay Area students, making him a well-rounded and sought-after instructor in combat sports and self-defense.
Priit Mihkelson
Priit Mihkelson is a highly respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner and instructor, holding a 3rd degree black belt. With over two decades of experience, Priit has been training since around 2000. Based in Tallinn, Estonia, he travels globally to share and gain knowledge. Priit co-owns Defensive BJJ and Estum Jiu-Jitsu, focusing on defensive skills and self-protection. He has released eight instructional DVDs with BJJ Fanatics, showcasing his innovative techniques. Priit balances his passion for BJJ with his role as a dedicated family man. His contributions to the global BJJ community have earned him a reputation as a skilled practitioner, knowledgeable instructor, and true ambassador of the art.
Nelson Puentes
Nelson Puentes is a highly respected figure in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) community, known for his exceptional skills, competitive achievements, and dedication to the art. As a co-founder of Inverted Gear, he has significantly contributed to the sport's growth. Since beginning his BJJ journey in 2007, Nelson has become a multiple-time IBJJF Open and American Nationals champion, competing in over 100 matches. He holds a third-degree black belt in BJJ and a brown belt in Judo, with his credentials verified by Beltchecker.com. Nelson's passion extends beyond personal accomplishments, as he actively competes in the IBJJF masters circuit and is SafeSport trained, promoting a positive and safe environment for all. His leadership at Inverted Gear and his commitment to BJJ make him a valuable and respected member of the community.
James Finizio
James had the privilege of training under Master Pedro Sauer from white belt through black belt at his home school. Early in his journey, James knew he wanted to become an instructor, dedicating himself to preserving Pedro's legacy and teaching style. In 2014, he moved to Savannah and founded Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Savannah. Now, he is excited to expand that success to Pooler, GA, and continue growing the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu family.
Hillary Puentes-Witt
Hillary Witt, co-founder of Inverted Gear and a pioneering figure in BJJ, began her training in 2005. Initially focused on self-defense, Hillary's passion for BJJ grew, leading her to train under some of the sport's top instructors. An accomplished competitor, she has won multiple championships and excelled in IBJJF events, including Masters Worlds, Europeans, and No Gi Worlds. As the most accomplished Gi competitor in the Lehigh Valley and the only female Black Belt teaching co-ed classes in the area, Hillary is a key instructor and inspiration at Inverted Gear Academy. Hillary is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, 3rd Degree (rank verified by Beltchecker.com), and is SafeSport trained.
How do I get to Puerto Escondido?
Getting to Puerto Escondido is straightforward. First, book your flight to Mexico City (airport code MEX), which is the most common international gateway. From Mexico City, several airlines, including Aeromar, Volaris, and Aeromexico, offer direct flights to Puerto Escondido (airport code PXM). The flight typically takes about an hour and a half. Alternatively, you can also fly into Oaxaca City (airport code OAX) and then take a scenic bus ride or a short domestic flight to Puerto Escondido.

Is Puerto Escondido safe for travelers?
Puerto Escondido is generally considered safe for travelers, especially in tourist-frequented areas such as the beaches and hotel zones. We are proud to note that we have been running our camp here for years without any incidents, reflecting our commitment to your safety and well-being.
What day do I need to arrive / leave?
Come any day you like! We start training Monday in the afternoon. If you don’t want to miss out on anything, we recommend you arrive Sunday that way you are relaxed and ready to train on Monday. Training sessions end on Friday. If you wish to vacation longer and enjoy more of Mexico we can easily arrange extra nights at the resort at a reduced rate.
